Navigating Life's Complexities: Psychoanalytic Therapy with Simina

Together, we'll uncover the unconscious patterns that shape your reality, paving the way for clarity and growth.

Hello, and welcome. I’m Simina, a psychoanalytic psychotherapist with over a decade of training and experience.

We all carry a story. From our first relationships in childhood to the experiences that followed, each moment has shaped how we see the world, how we feel, and how we connect with others. These early bonds, often called attachment relationships, influence the way we navigate life as adults – from how we relate to partners, friends, and family to how we understand ourselves.

What makes my approach different is my deep curiosity about your story and who you are. I believe every person is a whole universe – unique, complex, and deserving of understanding in their own right. My work combines years of psychoanalytic training, relationship like therapy, a degree in psychology, and up-to-date insights from neuroscience, all woven into a warm, human approach.

I’ve worked with people from diverse backgrounds across the world and know that no two stories are the same. Here, you’ll find a compassionate and safe space where we can make sense of the patterns, emotions, and relationships that shape your life. Together, we’ll explore these deeper layers so you can move forward with greater clarity, freedom, and meaning.

Your story matters – and I’m here to help you honour it.

Depth of Understanding

My training in psychoanalytic therapy equips me with the expertise to delve deeper than surface-level issues. By analyzing dreams, exploring past traumas, and unearthing suppressed memories, I provide clients with profound insights into their unconscious minds, offering a level of understanding that few other therapeutic modalities can achieve.

Long-term Focus

Unlike some therapeutic approaches that aim for quick fixes, my psychoanalytic background emphasizes long-term transformation. This means I am committed to helping clients address the root causes of their issues, leading to lasting change and a more profound sense of self-awareness.

Holistic Exploration

My work is not just about addressing specific problems but understanding the whole person. By exploring the interplay between a client's past and present, I help them see the bigger picture of their life narrative. This comprehensive approach ensures that clients don't just find solutions but also achieve a deeper understanding of themselves.

About me

I’m Simina, and I wanted to share a bit about what you can expect from psychoanalytic psychotherapy with me.

Every one of us carries a unique story, filled with emotions, challenges, and dreams. Life often throws us complex challenges, and having someone truly listen can make a world of difference.

Over the past eight years I've trained at the Association for Group and Individual Psychotherapy (AGIP) and I also have a BSc in Forensic Psychology. But more importantly, my experience comes from working with many wonderful people in various settings, from the NHS to UK prisons, and in diverse communities. I’ve seen the incredible resilience of the human spirit. I’m now at the end of my training in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and Analytical Psychology at AGIP and am working towards full accreditation with the UKCP.

I’ve walked alongside people dealing with depression, childhood trauma, relationship issues, and the complexities of identity and cultural transitions. These experiences have shown me that every person brings their own beauty and richness to the world.

In our sessions, it’s not just about therapy—it’s about connection, understanding, and discovering the strength within you.

Here are some of the areas I specialise in:

  • ADHD, depression, and anxiety.
  • Narcissistic abuse and codependency.
  • Stress management.
  • Childhood trauma, particularly developmental trauma.
  • Eating disorders and weight loss.
  • Attachment and separation difficulties.
  • Identity exploration, relationship dynamics, and interpersonal issues.
  • Coping with employment and financial difficulties.
  • Pre- and Post-natal depression and the challenges of new parenthood.
  • Fertility problems and coping with miscarriages.
  • Addressing gender and sexuality concerns.
  • Navigating the process of grief and loss.
  • Managing anger and emotional difficulties.
  • Addressing issues related to migration, acculturation, and deportation.
  • Working through marital problems and relationship struggles.
  • Addressing feelings of loneliness.
  • Understanding and managing difficult dynamics in relationships.
  • Improving relationships and becoming a better version of yourself.
  • Learning to let go of the past and embrace personal growth.
